Close work

Close delivered or abandoned work after its terminal finish state is recorded.

What changes

close completes the local delivery lifecycle without bypassing safety gates. Delivered work needs every accepted-plan task done with current task gates, substantive accepted validation, accepted Clean quality, passing Mission verification at the exact current HEAD, and a terminal finish disposition. Explicit abandonment is the only exception; handoff_required keeps the Mission open.

When this helps

Every accepted-plan task is done and its completion gates are current.
Validation and Clean quality evidence are accepted, exact-HEAD Mission verification passes, and finish records pr_created, merged, or branch_kept.
A delivery lead has explicitly recorded abandoned with an actor and reason.

Flags you can use

--allow-custom-key

Accept a work key that does not match a configured work-provider prefix. Use only for local or intentionally custom work.
